The following programs are available to students in
Grades 7 through 10 in the Waterloo Catholic District School Board and
their parent/guardians and are made possible through a grant from the
Ministry of Education and Training.

These programs help students reach the level of literacy skills
and math skills required for their grade level and continue their academic
careers. To take participate in these programs, students and their
parent/guardians need to work with the individual student's teacher and
principal to assess their need .

Identifying Students at risk:
- In consultation with parents, students and teachers, the school
principal may recommend a student for a literacy/math program if
they are at risk of not being successful in English/Language and/or
Mathematics at the next grade level or of not meeting the requirements
of the Grade 10 literacy test
- Students whose achievement is Level 1 and below (less than 60%) as
reported on the students Provincial Report Card in English/Language
and/or Mathematics should be encouraged to participate.
