If you have registered for St. Louis Personal Support Worker Program and during your interview it was determined that you could benefit from additional support to prepare for the course, you were likely referred to “PSW Essentials“.
Personal Support Worker Essentials is an 8 session program offered 2 evenings a week in the 4 weeks leading up to the start of the PSW Program. During this time, you will learn to learn as an adult and be better prepared to tackle the academic expectations of reading textbooks, completing assignments, writing tests and developing good study habits.
If you successfully complete PSW Essentials, then your acceptance into the Personal Support Worker Training Program will be confirmed with the Program Manager.
If you were not accepted into the PSW Training program because your English language needs improvement, St. Louis also offers a variety of English language classes including PSW and Health Care ESL course that would help to improve English language skills while using health care resources and exploring pathways as a PSW or health care professional.
