Literacy and Basic Skills Assessments
Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) programs are offered throughout Ontario and supported by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development and Employment Ontario (EO). St. Louis offers a Literacy and Basic Skills Program called Core Essentials that helps adults upgrade the essential skills they need to be more successful or better prepared for work, school or volunteer. This free program is especially useful for someone who has been out of school for a while and plans to return. In order help you with your long-term goals, we need to determine where you are at with your reading, writing and math skills.
At St. Louis, the Literacy and Basic Skills Assessment is a meeting with our intake coordinator and a set of written exercises related to these essential skills. To book an appointment with the intake coordinator, call St. Louis at 519-745-1201. The assessment should take 1-2 hours and the results reviewed with you to develop a personalize learning plan.
Let’s work together to help you learn how to learn again — as an adult!
