Note: St. Louis offers NEW Credit courses ONLY. We do not offer half-day credit upgrading options.

  • DO NOT register for Summer E-Learning courses AND Summer Day classes.

Important Notes:

  • There is NO registration cost to attend day class. All students will be held responsible for lost textbooks or any damage to course material.
  • Visa/International students must contact RDO at Waterloo Catholic District School Board and pay for summer school prior to admittance. Registration forms may be completed online, however Visa/International students will not be admitted to class without receipt from Board office. Students can bring this receipt to the main office prior to the start of class on July 6
  • Students must attend the first day of class or they will be removed from the course.
  • Attend all scheduled classes regularly and punctually.  After 3 absences, a student will be asked to withdraw from the course.  If a student withdraws AFTER the full disclosure date, the course grade to that point will appear with a “W” (Withdraw) on your credit counselling summary.
  • Final Report cards can be picked up on Aug 19 from 8:00am-12pm at St. Louis with photo ID

  • ALL course content, assignments and exam will be online.
  • Students can expect that their online course will require a minimum of 6 hours of schooling each day.
  • Log-in is expected on the first day of class or they will be removed from the course.
  • Students should log in each day to see news from the teacher, to stay on top of readings and to complete assignments. Students must be online for final exams on scheduled dates.
  • Vacation should be scheduled outside of summer school.  Assessment deadlines and exams will not be rescheduled for vacation. A medical note, at a cost to the student will be required for missed exams.
  • No registration cost to E-Learning students. Students are responsible for any and all printing costs.

Summer 2-credit co-op registration is with your Guidance Counsellor.

A FREE Summer Credit Co-op Program for current WCDSB students age 16-18 in Grade 11 & 12. Students are provided with an opportunity to experience a full-day unpaid work placement and earn credits during the summer.

Pre-placement begins May, taught by certified Co-op teachers.  Three mandatory in-class sessions on Thursdays and Saturdays in May and June.

Summer Credits@Work (1 or 2 credits)

This is a great opportunity for current high school students to earn 1-2 credits during the summer. Students must already have a volunteer position or employment. Summer Credits@Work runs from June 29 – Aug 5.

Students can earn 1 or 2 credits depending on the number of hours they work per week. To earn 1 credit during this time frame students must work a minimum of 18 hours per week; for 2 credits, they must work a minimum of 40 hours a week.

The New student form is for non-WCDSB students only.

Students do not have to register at St Louis (they register with their current guidance counsellor) but they will need to submit their forms and meet with the co-op teacher prior to the start of the program.

Bridge to Success is open to WCDSB Grade 8 students starting Grade 9 at one of our Catholic Secondary Schools in Fall 2020.

Below is a full list of details that students must consider when registering for a Summer Secondary School Credit courses at St. Louis:

Academic Responsibilities:
  • Day class and e-learning are 6 hours a day commitment
  • You must be present for the final exam on the scheduled date. 
  • It is your responsibility to keep informed of your progress. Consult your teacher often. 
  • Students who know they will be absent from a test or assignment must speak to the teacher beforehand.  If the absence is unexpected speak to the teacher immediately upon returning to the school. You are responsible for any missed work. 
  • If you would like marks sent to post-secondary institutions you must complete an online consent form on the first day of class in the Guidance Office at St. Louis or from the St. Louis website.  
  • College applicants must login to their online application and add that they are currently attending St. Louis so that we can send your marks.   
  • Report cards can be picked up at St. Louis on August 19th from 8 am-noon at St. Louis with photo ID. 
Attendance and Student Code of Behaviour for Day classes
  • If you do not attend the first day of class you will be removed from the course.
  • Attend all scheduled classes regularly and punctually. After 3 absences a student will be asked to withdraw from the course. (Note: 2 significant late arrivals equal one absent).
  • Vacation should be scheduled outside of summer school.  Assessments and exams will not be rescheduled for vacation. A medical note, at a cost to the student will be required for a missed exam.
  • School attire must be suitable for an educational environment. Summer School Administration have the right to determine what is appropriate school attire – no halter tops or tank tops. (St. Louis is air conditioned.) 
  • There is no textbook deposit but you will be held responsible for any lost textbooks or damage. 
  • Student code of expectations will be distributed on the first day of class. 
  • Transportation for day school: teachers will distribute a two-trip transit pass at the end of each school day for students who require transportation. Parking on campus in the summer is first come first serve.
  • Final Exam must be written on July 30th.
Attendance and Student Code of Behaviour for e-learning classes
  • e-learning classes are 6 hours a day commitment

  • Submit all scheduled assignments regularly and punctually and be sure to login each day. After 3 missed assignments a student will be asked to withdraw from the course.
  • Assessments and exams will not be rescheduled for vacation. A medical note, at a cost to the student will be required for a missed exam. 
  • Teacher list of expectations will be posted in D2L on the first day of class. 
  • Term 1 e-learning final exam for civics or careers is July 17th in the afternoon, Term 2 final exam for civics or careers is July 30th in the morning.
Communication with Teachers:
  • Communication with day-class teachers will take place primarily in-class.  Therefore attendance is paramount.
  • Communication with e-Learning teachers will be available electronically and the responsibility of the student to ensure that communication is correct and regular.
Marks for Post-Secondary Schools:
  • If you would like marks sent to post-secondary institutions you must complete a consent form on the first day of the course and submit this form to the Guidance Office at St. Louis.
  • College applicants must login to their online application and add that they are currently attending St. Louis so that we can send your marks.
Final Report Cards
  • Report cards for day class and e-Learning courses may be picked up on August 19, from 8am-12pm at St. Louis with photo ID.  If not picked up, they will be sent inter-office mail to your current secondary school after Aug 31.
