About the Program

A fun learning environment within the structure of a high school setting might set the tone for greater success and exposure for your Intermediate grade child. Prepare your child for the next grade during this FREE 14-day, in-person, mornings only summer program for students completing Grade 6, 7 & 8.

Developing numeracy and technology skills are critical. Written, auditory and visual literacy and visual media are used to develop literacy skills in all forms. Take the extra instructional time this summer to prepare students for the next grade — Lessons are fun, engaging, and a blend of independent and group activities that foster problem solving, creativity and critical inquiry.

Taught by WCDSB certified Intermediate teachers in small class sizes.

Learning tools include exploration with:

  • 3D digital design
  • hands-on building with cardboard or Lego to apply mathematical concepts
  • invention kits, coding, robotics and use of various technology
  • storyboarding and performance
  • written and oral storytelling and narratives with various themes
  • basic movie-making and multimedia presentations
  • … and more
